Sending voice notes
Voice notes let you talk instead of type. Each note comes with a written transcript.
Record and send a voice note
- 1Open a conversation in Inbox.
- 2Tap Voice note next to Send my calendar.
- 3The first time, your browser asks to use your microphone. Tap Allow.
- 4Speak. You can record up to 3 minutes.
- 5Tap Stop.
- 6Tap play to listen back.
- 7Tap Send to send it, or delete it and record again.
Play and read voice notes
- 1Tap the play button on any voice note. The bar shows progress and length.
- 2A few seconds after sending, a Transcript appears under the note. While it is being made you will see "Transcribing...".
- 3Only the two people in the chat can play or read it.
If the microphone does not work
- 1Look for the camera or lock icon in your browser's address bar.
- 2Open site settings and set Microphone to Allow.
- 3Reload the page and try again.
- 4On a phone, also check that your browser has microphone access in the phone's settings.
Good to know
- Voice notes follow the same rules as text: a finished profile and a paid plan.
- Phone numbers or emails spoken before a booking hide the transcript, just like typed contact details.
- If a transcript fails, the note still sends and plays normally.
